Toilet facilities at Velmeder Andreasschule completely renovated
The renovation work on the toilet facilities at Velmeder Andreasschule is nearing completion: The new toilets can already be used after the Easter holidays.
For the boys and girls at Andreasschule in Velmede, there will be something new at "their" school after the Easter holidays: The school toilets have been completely refurbished and are now sporting a new "outfit".
Bright, friendly colours combined with a wooden look on the doors, improved functionality and new technology: with the refurbishment, the municipality of Bestwig is replacing a toilet facility that dates back to the 1960s when the school was built. "The toilet area was completely gutted and rebuilt," explains Dipl.-Ing. Hubertus Kreis from the building and environmental department of the municipality of Bestwig. Drinking water and waste water pipes were renewed, as was the electrical installation. The floor has also been insulated.
Wall and floor tiles are designed in a grey and white contrast. The fittings can be used without touching them; the toilet facility itself is barrier-free. There is also a toilet for people with disabilities.
The work on the new toilet facility took around six months. The budget for the current year includes 300,000 euros for this project.
