Successful completion of the Truppmann course in Bestwig
Bestwig/Olsberg. 28 firefighters from the municipality of Bestwig (5) and the town of Olsberg (23) have now successfully passed their basic Truppmann 1 training course in Bestwig. Over a total of four weekends, the participants completed an intensive programme with theoretical and practical content.
In addition to the legal foundations of the fire service, the timetable also included vehicle and equipment knowledge, hazards at the scene, burning and extinguishing, first aid and firefighting procedures. With this basic training, the junior firefighters have now mastered the first important step in their firefighting careers.
Course instructors Florian Stratmann, deputy head of the Olsberg fire brigade, and Jan Adler, deputy head of the Bestwig fire brigade, were highly satisfied with their achievements. They thanked all participants for their commitment and announced the examination results. Philipp Müthing from the Bigge-Olsberg fire brigade, who achieved the highest number of points, deserved special mention. He was followed in second place by Mattis Richter, also from the Bigge-Olsberg fire brigade. Florian Götte from the Bruchhausen fire-fighting unit came third, ahead of Conner Lewe from the Ramsbeck fire-fighting unit and Leander Ehrich, also from the Bigge-Olsberg fire-fighting unit.
The mayors Ralf Péus (Bestwig) and Wolfgang Fischer (Olsberg) also took the opportunity to congratulate the new firefighters in person. They praised the participants' willingness to devote their free time to serving the community and emphasised the importance of volunteering for safety in the municipalities. At the same time, they expressed the hope that many of the graduates would attend further courses and become involved in the fire service in the long term.
The foundation stone has been laid with the successful completion of the course: The new firefighters can now actively participate in the firefighting groups and fire engines and apply their acquired knowledge in practice. This will strengthen the effectiveness of the fire services in Bestwig and Olsberg in the long term.
