Physiotherapy practice being built in the Franz Hoffmeister school centre in Bestwig
Work is currently underway at the Franz Hoffmeister School Centre in Bestwig for future use: The central area of the building is being converted into accommodation for the Academy Practice for Physiotherapy, which is run by the SMMP Training Academy for Therapy Professions. In future, people who want to live a healthy and pain-free life with the help of physiotherapy or physiotherapy will be able to receive treatment there.
On an area of around 400 square metres, the former school areas will be converted into a total of 12 treatment and ancillary rooms - such as the reception area, sanitary and social rooms or storage areas. The former school rooms were completely gutted for this purpose. At the same time, they are being prepared for their new use. Among other things, empty conduits are being laid in the floor of the future treatment rooms so that electrically adjustable treatment tables can be placed there. The building will also be equipped with a ventilation system and the ceilings will be suspended at a height of three metres.
The future practice area can be reached via its own access route, which will be barrier-free on the north side of the school centre. There will also be a separate entrance for the practice. Access to the new lift tower has already been created in the building. This will allow barrier-free access from the practice area to the school centre.
Dipl.-Ing. Hubertus Kreis from the building and environment department of the municipality of Bestwig expects the work to be completed by the end of the year. A total of 650,000 euros has been earmarked in the budget for the project. According to Mayor Ralf Péus, the academy practice is intended to be a building block for the subsequent use of the Franz Hoffmeister School Centre: "We are strengthening a local educational institution and also the health services in our community - that is a double benefit for our citizens."
