Local elections: Postal voting possible from Monday at the Bürgertreff in Bestwig

The local elections are approaching. On Sunday, 14 September, citizens can cast their votes for mayor and councillors as well as district councillors and county councillors. Voter notifications will be arriving in the next few days.

From Monday, 18 August, the municipality of Bestwig will start offering postal voting for the local elections. This means that anyone who does not want to or cannot vote at the polling station on election Sunday can do so by postal vote in the four weeks before the election.

As always, postal voting can be applied for in three ways: via the button on the homepage www.bestwig.de., by post with the completed paper application (on the back of the election notification) and most easily via the QR code on the election notification. It is not possible to apply for a postal vote by telephone.

If you would like to vote by post directly on site, you can do so at the Citizens' Meeting Centre in the Town Hall. In addition to the completed postal vote application form, you must also bring your identity card. The Bürgertreff is located to the left of the main entrance to the town hall in Bestwig and is open Monday to Thursday from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, Monday to Wednesday from 2 pm to 4 pm, Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm and Friday from 8.30 am to 1 pm. There will also be special opening hours on Saturday, 6 September, from 10 am to 12 noon and on Friday, 12 September, from 8.30 am to 3 pm.

Postal voting documents can be collected for up to four other people. To do this, the relevant authorisation form must be completed, which can be found on the back of the election notification.

The completed postal voting documents must be in the Bestwig municipality letterbox by 4 pm on election Sunday at the latest in order to be taken into account. So if you do not bring them in person, please note the time it takes to post them.
