Life skills in finance: First steps at the information evening in Bestwig

Bestwig. "First steps into the world of finance" - this was the title of an information evening in the Bestwig town hall, which was attended by around 45 women of all ages. The aim of the event was to convey a life and everyday skill that is crucial for one's own life: the confident handling of money. Understanding financial relationships forms the basis for making conscious decisions about one's own working life and retirement provision.

Speaker Anna Bernhardt is also committed to promoting financial empowerment and self-determination. She is the founder and director of your tomorrow - an educational programme for practical financial education. In her 60-minute presentation, she gave practical tips on budgeting, nest eggs and retirement planning as well as how role models, unequal pay and unpaid care work influence the financial situation of women. The aim was to make connections visible and encourage women to make conscious decisions for their working lives and their future, said Anna Bernhardt.

The event was organised by Elena Beule, Equal Opportunities Officer for the municipality of Bestwig. In addition to a lively exchange and lots of applause, Elena Beule presented the speaker Anna Bernhardt with a bouquet of flowers as a thank you.
