A strong fire brigade management for a strong volunteer fire brigade: Bestwig's mayor Ralf Péus has appointed Jan Adler as deputy head of the volunteer fire brigade for a period of six years and thus also as an honorary civil servant. Together with Chief Fire Officer Uwe Mikitta and Deputy Chief Fire Officer Daniel Drewek, Jan Adler now leads the volunteer fire brigade in the municipality of Bestwig.

The newly appointed municipal fire inspector is a member of the Ostwig fire brigade and has been actively involved in the fire service since 2002. The Bestwig municipal council had already appointed Jan Adler as acting deputy fire chief in 2023. He had to complete further training courses during this period to ensure his professional suitability. He has now successfully completed these.

At the official appointment, Mayor Ralf Péus praised both the commitment and the professional expertise and conscientiousness of the volunteer fire brigade - this applies to the fire brigade management as well as to each individual comrade. "It is good for our citizens to know that a committed and competent team of emergency services is always on hand in the event of an emergency."
