Identity card and passport: Waiting times currently a few days longer

Citizens who have applied for passports or ID cards are currently having to wait a few days longer for their documents in many cases. This is due to delays at the Federal Printing Office, where passports and ID cards are produced. The municipality of Bestwig would like to point this out.

These delays affect all municipalities - including the municipality of Bestwig. The Bestwig Citizens' Office team therefore recommends applying for the relevant identity documents as early as possible - especially if you are planning to travel abroad. Passports and ID cards can be applied for at the Bestwig Citizens' and Town Hall - the corresponding documents are then produced at the Federal Printing Office in Berlin. The municipal administration itself has no influence on how long the production process takes.
