German Forest Days 2025: Event at the Lörmecke Tower

Warstein/Bestwig. Under the motto "Together! For the forest" is the motto of this year's German Forest Days. The series of events initiated by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is now entering its seventh round.

The Centre for Forestry and the Timber Industry (Wald und Holz NRW), the Forestry Association for North Rhine-Westphalia and the town of Warstein cordially invite you to a special day at the Lörmecke Tower on Sunday, 28 September. During interesting short excursions through the forest, an open exchange and exciting insights into the forest in climate change, forest visitors can get to know the forest and all its functions.

Together with the guests, foresters and experts on the topics of forests and wood take a look at the current challenges and show what role the versatile and renewable raw material wood will play in the future. The Lörmecke Tower (GoogleMaps coordinates 51.39601, 8.34639) can be reached on foot from the Plackweg hiking car park on the Stimmstamm, located on the B55.

The diversity of our forests

Our forests fulfil many functions: they are habitats, places of recreation, education, research and health. They also play a central role in climate and biodiversity protection and provide the valuable, renewable raw material wood.

During the Forest Days, all interested parties are particularly invited to familiarise themselves with this diversity and the importance of an intact forest ecosystem for society and the environment.
