Free green waste collection in the municipality of Bestwig: Register now

Bestwig. When the leaves fall in autumn, there are often large quantities of tree and shrub cuttings in the garden. But where to put them if there is not enough space in the organic waste bin? The municipal administration supports all garden owners and hobby gardeners in the municipality of Bestwig in the environmentally friendly disposal of their garden waste with a separate and free tree and shrub cuttings collection service.

Taking part is easy. The collection date for green waste is Saturday, 8 November 2025. Important: Garden owners must register their tree and shrub cuttings. This can be done by Wednesday, 5 November at the latest at the Citizens' Office in Bestwig Town Hall. Registrations can be made by telephone on 02904/987-144 or -145 during normal opening hours and at any time by e-mail at buergerbuero@bestwig.de.

On collection day, the green waste must be clearly visible at the roadside by 6 am. The municipal administration asks that tree and shrub cuttings be bundled in manageable bundles and shortened to a maximum of 1.50 metres. Branches must not be more than 15 centimetres thick. Leaves and grass cuttings can be packed in untied bags, cardboard boxes or baskets. The employees of the contracted city cleaning company Lobbe will then return the containers after emptying.
