"First steps into the world of finance": Information evening for women in Bestwig town hall
Bestwig. It's sad, but a fact: financial disadvantages continue to affect women in particular - for example, because they receive lower wages, their employment history is interrupted or they take on care work. The result is often poverty in old age. "Women and finances" is therefore the topic of an information evening organised by Elena Beule, Equal Opportunities Officer for the municipality of Bestwig, at the town hall.
The aim of the event is to give participants an initial insight into numerous topics relating to the world of finance. For example, the importance of financial education for an - ideally - carefree life, an overview of one's own financial situation, the topic of saving and investing and also retirement planning. Key points that are particularly important in women's working lives will also be addressed.
The speaker is Anna Bernhardt, founder and director of "your tomorrow" - an educational programme for practical financial education. She says: "Financial education is more than just numerical knowledge - it is a central building block for social participation and individual stability." Her aim is to promote financial empowerment and self-determination.
The information evening will take place on Thursday, 4 September, at 6 p.m. in the large citizens' hall of the town hall. The presentation, including a Q&A session, will last around 60 minutes. Participation is free of charge. Registrations can be made by 1 September at the latest by e-mail to elena.beule@bestwig.de or by telephone on 02904/987-102.
