Bestwiger Gastgarten: UnArt rocks the town hall square
Bestwig. This guest garden in Bestwig will certainly be remembered by visitors for a long time to come: Four hours of energetic cover songs at their best with the band UnArt from Siegen, hot music, cool drinks and a rousing party atmosphere in the heart of Bestwig ensured enthusiasm throughout.
Mayor Ralf Péus was no exception: "A great evening for all the neighbourhoods in our municipality." It was the right decision to move the guest garden from the original September date to midsummer - and also to change the music style to more rocking sounds. The cover band UnArt more than lived up to this: the musicians around frontman Steffen Wüst turned top hits from the 80s and 90s into rocking, powerful anthems that encouraged people to sing and dance along. UnArt had the Rathausplatz under musical control for around four hours - and made sure that the band members weren't the only ones with sweat on their foreheads.
But it didn't have to stop there: In keeping with the hot rhythms, the drinks retailer Nölke from Ramsbeck and its team provided visitors with cool drinks. To stave off hunger, there were chips and currywurst from the Möller-Winter farm shop or delicious tarte flambée and potato pancakes from Weinhaus Hamm-Frielinghausen, which also had fresh and tangy wines in its repertoire.
This was the third time that the municipal administration had organised the guest garden on its own. The aim is to continue offering an attractive programme for all districts on the town hall square in the future - Ralf Péus: "The town hall square in particular is ideally suited for this - and it is certainly also a centrepiece for our municipal area."
